Glass Harp on WCPN 90.3 "Around Noon"
Levenson Performance Studio
October 27th, 2003

Hosted by Jim Goldurs

After the sold out performance at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame yesterday, the August 2nd performance at Cain Park (along with a meet and greet the following day at the R&RHoF) and the new CD that released this summer PLUS a March performance at the Beachland Ballroom, inexperienced Glass Harp fans might be tempted to think they'd experienced all Glass Harp had to offer for one year. But, as icing on the cake, the guys offered us a special treat to top things off thanks to WCPN 90.3 in Cleveland.

The program, which took placeWhile on the air, John, Daniel and Phil were asked about the band's beginnings, opening for large bands, the 1971 show at Carnegie Hall, musical influences, what they've been doing since Glass Harp "broke up" in 1972 (and why it did), the new recording and how they came back together.

But what would a radio program be without music! So, of course, the guys treated listeners to a short acoustic set with Phil on his Charis, John on a Taylor and Daniel on bsss. First up was a nice acoustic version of "Everlasting Light", a light-hearted tune from the new CD, Hourglass, . Next up, after a bit of interviewing, was the classic acoustic version of "Garden" (which apparently did well in Japan) from the first CD, Glass Harp. To close out the program, listeners were given an impromptu "Shades of Green" with Phil on acoustic guitar and John on percussion with a tambourine.

The whole thing only lasted 27 minutes, but the guys made every minute count and it was certainly a treat! Thanks Glass Harp and WCPN!!!

Listen to the archived broadcast here.

And don't forget to WCPN for having the guys for a visit!
